“Congratulations to Lauretta and Siddalee on being named as this year’s recipients of the Women in Bioscience Scholarship,” said Rob Owen, Executive Director of Bio Nebraska. “We are proud to support these two talented scholars as they pursue an education in the biosciences right here in Nebraska.”

The Women in Bioscience Scholarship was designed to provide financial assistance to women, as well as provide mentorship and recognition to exceptional students committed to the biosciences. Applications were accepted from women in Nebraska who are pursuing an associate or undergraduate degree in a bioscience-related field at a Nebraska university, college, or community college as a freshman or sophomore in the 2025-2026 academic year.

“Women play an important role in advancing the biosciences but are underrepresented in STEM fields. This scholarship reflects our commitment to creating more pathways for women to thrive in Nebraska’s bioscience sector,” said Owen. “We look forward to seeing this year’s recipients grow and make an impact in their studies, careers, and communities.”
