Streck Launches Nucleic Acid Plus BCT™ to Reduce Pre-Analytical Variability Across Multi-Analyte Workflows

La Vista, Nebraska – Streck is pleased to announce the launch of Nucleic Acid Plus BCT™, a blood collection tube designed to stabilize cell-free DNA (cfDNA), cell-free RNA (cfRNA), extracellular vesicles (EVs) and select plasma proteins from a single blood draw. Formerly known as Protein Plus BCT™, this product has expanded its intended use claims to include cfDNA and cfRNA alongside EVs and plasma proteins to better suit downstream multi-analyte applications.

Nucleic Acid Plus BCT provides stabilization of whole blood samples at ambient temperature (18 °C to 25 °C), with cfDNA and cfRNA remaining stable in stored samples for up to 7 days and EVs and select plasma proteins remaining stable for up to 5 days. This allows for multi-analyte analysis from a single draw.

The tube’s proprietary preservative reagent stabilizes nucleated blood cells, red blood cells and platelets while minimizing ex vivo hemolysis and platelet activation. This limits the release of genomic DNA, RNA, EVs and proteins from blood cells during whole blood storage, helping maintain draw-time plasma profile and reducing pre-analytical variability caused by shipping delays, sample batching or extended transit times.

“As liquid biopsy workflows expand beyond cfDNA alone, assay developers need stabilization solutions that can keep pace,” said Kris Simonyi, Associate Director of Business Segment Marketing – Stabilization. “Nucleic Acid Plus BCT helps preserve plasma integrity across multiple analyte workflows so researchers can do more from the same draw with less pre-analytical variability.”

Nucleic Acid Plus BCT is available as a 5 mL configuration in packs of 6, boxes of 100 or cases of 1000 (Cat. No’s 230698, 230699, 230700, respectively) to support streamlined logistics across decentralized sites of all sizes. A 10 mL configuration of Nucleic Acid BCT is expected to launch later this year.

The launch of Nucleic Acid Plus BCT reinforces Streck’s longstanding commitment to pre-analytical excellence, building on more than 50 years of blood stabilization innovation and the company’s established credibility in liquid biopsy workflows. Nucleic Acid Plus BCT is available now through Streck’s standard distribution channels.

Nucleic Acid Plus BCT is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Streck receives IVD clearance of MDx-Chex controls for use with Diasorin LIAISON PLEX Blood Culture Assays

Streck is pleased to announce the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance of three MDx-Chex® controls for sepsis testing as in vitro diagnostics (IVD). MDx-Chex for BCY, MDx-Chex for BCP and MDx-Chex for BCN are true patient-like, ready-to-use, full-process molecular quality controls designed for verification of the DiaSorin LIAISON PLEX® Yeast, Gram-Positive and Gram-Negative Blood Culture Assays, respectively.

Sepsis affects more than 1.7 million adults in the United States each year and demands rapid, accurate identification of causative pathogens and resistance genes to guide targeted therapy. MDx-Chex for BCY, MDx-Chex for BCP and MDx-Chex for BCN address that need by giving laboratories a reliable way to verify their sepsis testing workflow — from lysis and extraction through detection — using intact, inactivated microorganisms suspended in a stabilized, patient-like matrix.

“Sepsis diagnostics demand both speed and accuracy, and the laboratories running these panels carry an enormous responsibility,” said Chris Connelly, Director of Business Segment – Molecular at Streck. “MDx-Chex for BCY, MDx-Chex for BCP and MDx-Chex for BCN give labs running LIAISON PLEX Blood Culture Assays the confidence that their entire workflow is validated and performing correctly. That confidence translates directly to better patient care.”

The LIAISON PLEX platform is a fully automated, random-access multiplex PCR system enabling simultaneous detection of a broad range of pathogens and resistance genes from a single blood culture sample. MDx-Chex for BCY, MDx-Chex for BCP and MDx-Chex for BCN are cleared specifically for the Yeast, Gram-Positive and Gram-Negative Blood Culture Assays, respectively, on this platform, providing an end-to-end quality assurance solution that mirrors real patient sample processing.

Supplied in 10 single-use vial kits (Cat. No’s 250083, 250084, 250085) and stored at room temperature, the controls cover the clinically relevant gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) markers specifically targeted by the LIAISON PLEX Blood Culture Assays.

Streck’s CD-Chex™ Daily Delivers 51-Marker Coverage in a Single, Assayed Vial for Standardized Flow Cytometry QC

Streck is pleased to announce the launch of CD-Chex™ Daily, the newest addition to the CD-Chex line of flow cytometry quality controls. CD-Chex Daily is a ready-to-use, assayed quality control designed to simplify and modernize daily QC workflows for flow cytometry laboratories.

CD-Chex Daily provides comprehensive coverage across 51 markers in a single vial, with markers spanning surface, intracellular and leukocyte scatter populations, including CD200, TRBC1, cMPO, CD27, CD81, CD79b CD36, cCD79a, CD79b, cKappa, cLambda and more, for broad panel support. CD-Chex Daily supports modern high-volume spectral cytometers and integrates seamlessly with Streck’s STATS® interlaboratory QC Program.

The control’s standardized assayed ranges meet CAP, CLIA, CLSI, and ISO 15189 requirements, limiting reliance on fragmented QC methods and supporting consistent comparability across instruments and overtime.

“”Labs have been asking for a single control that keeps pace with complex panels and modern instrumentation,” said Mirta Gamez, MT(ASCP), CLS, Associate Director of Hematology. “CD-Chex Daily delivers that — reducing costs, minimizing variability, and supporting compliance from day one.”

Supplied in a 3.0 mL pierceable plastic vial, available in single (Cat. No. 230695), two-pack (Cat. No. 230696), and five-pack (Cat. No. 230697) configurations, CD-Chex Daily provides 90-day closed-vial and 30-day open-vial stability to support labs of all testing volumes.

CD-Chex Daily is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
