Bio Nebraska was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Jim McClurg, a visionary leader whose contributions helped shape Nebraska’s bioscience industry.
Dr. McClurg was instrumental in the creation of Bio Nebraska and served as Chairman of the Bio Nebraska Board of Directors for many years. Throughout his distinguished career, he also held leadership positions with Nebraska bioscience companies and served as Chairman of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. His dedication to advancing Nebraska’s bioscience community left a lasting impact on our state and beyond.
“Jim’s vision for Nebraska’s bioscience industry helped lay the foundation for the success we see today,” said Rob Owen, Executive Director of Bio Nebraska. “His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of innovators and leaders.”
In 2021, Bio Nebraska honored Dr. McClurg with its inaugural Bioscience Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his extraordinary leadership and service.
