Dr. Jim McClurg Receives Bio Nebraska’s Inaugural Bioscience Lifetime Achievement Award

Bio Nebraska is proud to announce that Dr. Jim McClurg has been named the recipient of Bio Nebraska’s inaugural Bioscience Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award was presented at Bio Nebraska’s Annual Meeting by Dr. Ronnie Green, Chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, on Oct. 27, 2021 and included a video message from former United States Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns honoring Dr. McClurg’s career and leadership in support of Nebraska’s bioscience industry.

“I can’t think of a more deserving recipient of the inaugural Bioscience Lifetime Achievement Award than Dr. McClurg,” said Rob Owen, Bio Nebraska Executive Director. “ Dr. McClurg’s work and dedication over the years has made a lasting impact on the Nebraska biosciences and the lives and health of many individuals around the world.”

Dr. McClurg was instrumental in the creation of Bio Nebraska and served as Chairman of the Bio Nebraska Board of Directors for many years. In addition, he held multiple positions in various Nebraska bioscience companies and served as Chairman of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
