ProTransit Nanotherapy

ProTransit Nanotherapy is an Omaha-based biotechnology company that plans to fully commercialize a unique and patented nanoparticle drug delivery system called Pro-NP™. The primary focus of Pro-NP™ is delivery of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and catalase, to destroy reactive oxygen species that are very damaging. This cellular damage is a major driver in numerous diseases such as skin cancer, photoaging, traumatic brain injury, hypertension and many others. The first commercial application of Pro-NP™ will be in skincare products such as antiaging nighttime serum and sunscreens. Topical products like these will be commercialized through a licensing partner, Artesian Beauty. ProTransit has worked extensively with the Nebraska Nanomedicine Production Plant, which is on the campus of UNMC, to finalize the production process and scale-up to industrial scale. Based on the success of field trials of skincare products, ProTransit plans to establish its own production facilities in the Omaha area in 2021.
