Bio Nebraska and Bio Nebraska Foundation Announce Women in Bioscience Scholarship

Bio Nebraska and the Bio Nebraska Foundation announced today the launch of its inaugural Women in Bioscience Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The scholarship is designed to empower and support women pursuing a bioscience-related field of study by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and recognition to exceptional students committed to the biosciences.

“The Women in Bioscience Scholarship acknowledges the crucial role women play in Nebraska’s bioscience industry,” said Sasha Forsen, Assistant Director of Bio Nebraska. “With a commitment to reducing barriers and increasing opportunities for women, this scholarship offers not just financial aid, but access to bioscience professionals who are committed to supporting women as they transition to impactful careers in the biosciences.”

This scholarship is open to women in Nebraska who are pursuing an associate or undergraduate degree in a bioscience-related field at a Nebraska university, college, or community college as a freshman or sophomore in the 2024-2025 academic year. Up to four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded.

“At Bio Nebraska, our mission is to promote, connect, and catalyze Nebraska’s bioscience industry, and the Women in Bioscience Scholarship further demonstrates our commitment to advancing this great industry,” said Rob Owen, Executive Director of Bio Nebraska. “We recognize that fostering a more inclusive and diverse community is essential and we could not be more excited to offer this scholarship.”
