Join us for Women and Entrepreneurship: Can we do it? Yes we can!, a virtual presentation for Nebraska Women in STEM by Catherine Murari-Kanti, Ph.D, Licensing Specialist for UNeMed.

Dr. Murari-Kanti will discuss with us solutions to many obstacles women face while wanting to be entrepreneurs. She will introduce us to the world of technology transfer, intellectual property and research commercialization and provide us with entrepreneurial opportunities that are available through UNeMed as well as in the community.

About the Speaker

Catherine Murari-Kanti, Ph.D. is a Licensing Specialist for UNeMed, the technology transfer office for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Dr. Murari-Kanti is a cancer-researcher, self-proclaimed science geek and lover of all things innovative and entrepreneurial. After completing her Ph.D. in Cancer Research from UNMC, Catherine veered into the field of technology transfer, research commercialization, start-ups and entrepreneurship. She has spent the last four years supporting and propelling the inventions and discoveries made at UNMC and UNO. She is passionate about empowering women to believe in themselves, their ideas and their abilities to be great.

At UNeMed, Catherine is responsible to evaluate new inventions and discoveries; seek out intellectual property protection and garner industry interest through research commercialization efforts. During her four year tenure with UNeMed she has sought out multiple opportunities to work with faculty to develop start-ups as well as support the STEM and Women-in-STEM causes at the University as well as in the community.
