Tell us about your company.
Phibro Vaccines Omaha (PVO) is a manufacturer of Tailor-Made® Autogenous Vaccines, bacterial and viral vaccines designed to meet specific health challenges of our livestock producing customers in the swine, bovine, and poultry industries across the US. We offer a full-service diagnostic lab for isolation and identification of organisms. In addition, we have an innovative R&D staff for the improvement of existing products as well as introducing new offerings. We also manufacture adjuvants, a component of vaccines, for sale worldwide.

Why is Nebraska an important location for your company?
Our central location in the heart of Nebraska makes it easy to supply vaccines and adjuvants to customers across the United States and around the world. In addition, because Nebraska is predominantly an agricultural state, many of its residents share PVO’s commitment to serving the animal health industry.
Being based in Nebraska also places us near several universities closely connected to our industry, including the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Iowa State University, and Kansas State University. This proximity supports valuable collaborations, diagnostic connections, staffing opportunities, and internships. It has also allowed us to form a partnership with Metropolitan Community College here in Omaha. We have collaborated with them, by members of our staff being a part of their Business and Industry Leadership Team (BILT), in forming their new Biotechnology Program—a two-year Associates Degree for students interested in entering the Biotech manufacturing field. We worked extensively with them in the design of their new educational training lab. We are also working with them in placing students in internship and externship positions. We have employees that will be participating in their pilot Biotech microcredential program to provide feedback and improvement ideas. We will work with them in having some of our employees participate in teaching Biotech courses.
What products/services do you offer?

What are some of the biggest challenges facing your industry today, and how does your company play a role in helping overcome those challenges?
At Phibro, we understand the critical role we play in supporting sustainable food production. With a growing global population and increasing pressure on natural resources, healthy livestock, poultry, and aquaculture systems are more crucial than ever. Our products empower our customers to achieve just that—healthy animals, raised in ways that judiciously use grain, land and water, ultimately leading to more affordable and plentiful protein products for consumers.
What’s on the horizon for the remainder of 2026/start of 2027?
At PVO, we continue to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities to deliver the quality and reliability our customers expect. At the same time, we are advancing innovation through new offerings across swine, bovine, poultry and adjuvants. To further support customer needs, we continue to invest in our Omaha manufacturing facility and are also investing in a new U.S. distribution center in Nebraska, which is expected to open in early 2027.
